Our Club Competitions offer no monetary prizes, ribbons or awards. We find there is more value in the feedback we receive from our colleagues & outside critics. Regardless of our personal photography experience, competitions bring us together to challenge our technique, encourage a different perspective and take-in some extraordinary images.
This first Digital Club Competition of our year offered three Categories. Members were allowed to enter no more than three images per category. The photographer remained anonymous as images were projected on a screen for all to view while judges assigned point values to each image. Judges also shared their reasons on why they scored certain images as they did.
All projected images were judged on a 5-4-3-2-1 scale with “5” being the highest score and “1” being the lowest score. With a total of three judges, the highest score for an image could be 15. The assignment of scores, competition rules and further information pertaining to Club Competitions can be found in the Competition Guidelines.

Our Judges were Brad Leeb, Terry Stoa and Larry Holder.
Brad of Bradley Leeb Photography has been a music educator in the Illinois public schools for 14 years. Since 2005, he has explored his passion for the visual arts as well. Brad has worked as a freelance photographer for a number of newspapers and photo services, such as the Associated Press, US Presswire, ESPN.com, SportsIllustrated.com, USAToday.com, FoxSports.com, the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and dozens of regional newspapers throughout the midwest.
Terry Stoa and Larry Holder come to us from the Decatur Camera Club. Terry, a former CICCA President now serves as the Decatur Camera Club Treasurer. Larry is currently the Vice President of the Decatur Camera Club. We hope this is a beginning to a collaborative partnership with our Decatur Camera Club neighbors.
