January 10 we are planning a trip to Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Park. This is near northwest of Springfield IL. Included below are links for the park, the trails and a google driving map. This park is large, with multiple habitats and several lakes. While there won't be a huge variety of birds, maybe 20 species if we are lucky, that just adds to the challenge with lots of other opportunities for photography. The Drake lake area looks good, but we will discuss with particiapnts. Time to shake off the rust and get out in nature!
Early look at the weather - looks good. Sunny, limited wind, temperatures 25-35, wind chills 18 to 30. Any decision on cancelling will be made on or before January 1st.

715am: Stop at Caseys in Petersburg
