Let’s go to two local locations north of Mahomet on the 17th! First up is Heron View Forest Preserve. It's a small preserve, with about 1.4 miles of hiking. We can meet there about 7:00 am when the preserve opens. There should be plenty of opportunities for all genres of photography.
Next, we'll go a little northeast to the Sangamon River Forest Preserve. This is a little bigger than Heron View and has several small trails adding up to about 2 miles altogether.
There are no facilities at Heron View, but there are bathrooms at the Sangamon River site (likely porta-potties).
Winter weather is always challenging, so any cancellation decisions will be made early on January 16 at the latest and shared on this site.
