Come tonight to learn from our guest speaker, president of the Decatur Camera Club Gary Sebens, talk about panoramic photography. Gary Stebens retired in 2018 from 45 years in the construction industry. That gave him the time to get serious about photography while joining the Allerton Park Photography Group. You can view an outline of his presentation. You’ll be sure to take home some tricks!
Also tonight we hope to share results from photo assignment #1:
With this assignment, we want members to go out within 60 days prior to tonight’s meeting and take up to four photos (no more than 2 of any 1 subject). The photos should include at least one of the following categories: texture, transportation and/or the color red. If you can include two or three of the categories in your photo, even better. The maximum size for a projected image is 1400 x 1050 pixels. To learn more about preparing your image for projection on the library projector, see this information. You can email the photos to the club email champaigncountycameraclub@gmail.com by noon September 9, or bring them on a flash drive.
We hope these subjects challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, and observe your surroundings in ways you don't normally do. We prefer recent photos, but won't really enforce this. No judging, just show your work, and a brief description of where/what/how/why you took it. Leadership believes this will be a really fun way to encourage members to get out there and photograph the world around you.
